Green Approach Preferences Across a College Campus.

A survey of 145 college students indicates their perception of how a green approach implementation may benefit the campus community.  Habit changes and modifications at the individual level will determine the level of success of such implementation.  An index of preferences was created and numerical values were assigned to the preferences.  Use of e book, improving the existing bike path or establishing a new bike path, use of perennial shrubs instead of lawn, more friendly landscape management practices, green activities and energy conservation were among such preferences. The preliminary information indicates a strong energy conservation preference on campus, followed by an increase in green activities for students on campus.  The sampling size will expand in order to attain a better understanding of the student needs, and the means to incorporate the findings in the curricula across the campus
