Abstract:

The aim of this work was to evaluate adaptation of common vetch lines in ecological transition zones (Tokat and Amasya) during 2004/05 and 2005/06 years. Seventeen common vetch lines were selected from thirty two common vetch lines originating from ICARDA and one local cultivar (Karaelçi) from Ankara University were used in this research. The research was designed according to randomized block design with three replicate. Dry matter yield, biological yield, seed yield, 1000-seed weight, harvest index, crude protein content in dry matter and crude protein in seed variables were determined. The data were analyzed with MSTAT statistical program. Biological yield (2060.0 - 8025.0 kg/ha), seed yield (551.7 - 3000.0 kg/ha), 1000-seed weight (51.20 - 90.44 g), harvest index (13.63 - 37.57 %) and crude protein content in seed (19.34 - 32.88 %.) were ranged based on two years production.

Key words: Common vetch (Vicia sativa  L.), yield, harvest index, crude protein
