From the Danube to the Volga: The Many Ways Rien Van Genuchten Contributed to the Advancement of Soil Physics in Central and Eastern Europe.

Many Central and Eastern European (CEE) scientists had the privilege to meet and collaborate with Rien van Genuchten for the past several decades. Rien van Genuchten is among those western scientists who willingly established and maintained an extensive collaborative network with Central and Eastern European scientists, dating back to times when the East and the West were separated politically as well as economically. This contribution is an incomplete collection of snapshots from Rien's collaborative work and personal contacts with Central and Eastern European scientists.
