Justin Moss, 663 Wyarno Road, University of Wyoming, University of Wyoming, Sheridan Research & Extension Center, Sheridan, WY 82801

The objective of this research was to determine the effects of repeated applications of the herbicide bispyribac-sodium (Velocity) and the PGRs paclobutrazol (Turf Enhancer), and trinexapac-ethyl (Primo Maxx) for control of annual bluegrass in creeping bentgrass greens. This research was conducted in 2006 and 2007 at the Powderhorn Golf Club, Sheridan, WY on a SR1020 golf green and the Bel Nob Golf Course, Gillette, WY on a Penncross golf green. Treatments were applied to 1.5 x 1.5 m plots with three replications weekly (Powderhorn) or bi-weekly (Bel Nob) and consisted of the following: Velocity – 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, and 10.0 g a.i. (active ingredient) per acre; Turf Enhancer at 113 and 226 g a.i. per acre; Primo Maxx at 23 g a.i. per acre;Velocity + Turf Enhancer at 2.5 + 113 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Turf Enhancer at 5.0 + 113 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Turf Enhancer at 7.5 + 113 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Turf Enhancer at 10.0 + 113 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Turf Enhancer at 2.5 + 226 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Turf Enhancer at 5.0 + 226 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Turf Enhancer at 7.5 + 226 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Turf Enhancer at 10.0 + 226 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Primo Maxx at 2.5 + 23 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Primo Maxx at 5.0 + 23 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Primo Maxx at 7.5 + 23 g a.i. per acre; Velocity + Primo Maxx at 10.0 + 23 g a.i. per acre; and Control. In addition, plots were split and a nitrogen and iron liquid fertilizer (12-0-0 with chelated Fe) were applied (FeSO4 at 1.1 kg/ha + N at 2.2 kg/ha). Results will be discussed.
