293 Agriculture, Emerging Contaminants, and Water Quality: I
Oral Session
SSSA Division: Soils & Environmental QualityEmerging contaminants of environmental significance, such as pharmaceutical and personal care products and veterinary antibiotics, are known to exist in many human and animal waste products applied to agricultural fields. Understanding how these contaminants enter surface and shallow groundwater receptors is paramount for prescribing BMPs that reduce receptor impact by these substances. This oral presentation session provides a forum for researchers working on agriculture/environmental water quality issues related to emerging contaminants to present and discuss their recent work in the context of fate, transport, and mitigation.
