26 Symposium--Learning-Centered Classrooms and Extension Meeting Arenas

Oral Session
ASA Section: Education & Extension Many agronomists - whether teachers or Extension specialists - have had little or no formal training on how to teach, yet we constantly engage in teaching. Our efforts may sometimes fall far short of our expectations. This symposium is focused on improving classroom and extension learning by highlighting the basics of learning-centered classrooms. Facilitators will guide participants through activities designed to engage learners in deeper thinking. After participants experience the learning-centered strategies, facilitators will help apply the new strategies. The target audiences are graduate and undergraduate classroom teachers, Extension specialists, and graduate students
