C04 Seed Physiology, Production & TechnologySymposium--Use of Seed Treatments to Mitigate Abiotic Stress Risks and Growth Limiting Factors This symposium was originally suggested as a general seed treatment symposium. Seed treatments are usually thought of mainly as fungicide or insectide products. However, there are a range of seed treatment products that are designed to promote plant health in ways other than just eliminating pests. Various coatings, growth promoters, nutrient packages, and others are being used, as well as combinations of products. This is also an opportunity to bridge into the horticultural crop arena since often these products are first introduced in those higher value crops. Of particular interest are biological products that are used to mitigate stress factors and have specific growth-promoting activity.
