This session will be oral volunteered presentations on topics highlighted in the symposium “Applying Soil Chemistry to Solve Soil Problems in the "Milky Way": Honoring the Impact of Malcolm Edward Sumner. “Potential topics include: (1) trace element fate and bioremediation, (2) application of surface chemistry to soil fertility management, (3) solute transport, (4) using mineralogy in forensics, (5) soil fertility, (6) soil testing, (7) phosphate chemistry, (8) Vertisol genesis, soil carbonate enrichment, and soil carbon sequestration, and (9) tropical soils properties and management.
