The 7 oz acre-1 Huskie (bromoxynil and pyrasulfatole) alone treatment provided 85% pigweed control one week after application. However, control was reduced to 61% by the end of the season. The 10, 13, and 16 oz acre-1 Huskie alone treatments provided greater than 90% control throughout most of the season. However, some new pigweed had emerged by the end of the season causing control to decrease to approximately 80%. Adding 1 or 2 pt acre-1 atrazine, 4 oz acre-1 Clarity (dicamba), or a combination of atrazine plus Clarity resulted in near 100% control throughout the season. Sorghum injury (leaf burn and slight onion leafing) was greater at the higher Huskie rates or when atrazine or Clarity was added. However, injury was never more than 8% and sorghum quickly recovered.
