The history of Soil Fertility in the US during the past 75 years is broken down into three distinct eras and discussed. The three eras discussed are: The first 25 years--Soil Testing/Problem Solving Era; The second 25 years--The Fertilizer Era; and the last 25 years--The Environmental Era.
