This session will focus on Conservation Agriculture (CA) (surface residue retention, minimum soil movement and crop rotations), and the understanding of why the system works, both the biophysical and socioeconomic benefits that can be expected and attributed to CA practice, as well as on problems with its implementation. Alternative names for CA include, no-tillage, zero tillage and conservation farming among others.
