361 Symposium--Building a Strong Financial Base for Sustaining a Healthy Plant Breeding Community

Oral Session
C01 Crop Breeding & Genetics
The financial landscape for building plant breeding research programs in the public sector is everchanging, prompted by erosion of traditionally-based public or formula support. This symposium will investigate successes in public-private partnerships, commercialization strategies now driving public programs, the impact of foundations in targeted support for cultivar development, and national and global programs that may help build capacity and provide public support.
