Abstract:
Agricultural and water managers face risks associated with climate variability every year. As climate scientists learn more about the earth's systems that affect climate, we gain information that resource managers can use to manage their risks. The Southeast Climate Consortium is a program that brings together researcher and extension specialists in order to develop relevant, timely information that agricultural and water managers need to manage climate risks. The program integrates extension agents and resource managers into the research and extension process through workshops, training programs, surveys, and interviews. The results is a program that effectively delivers climate services to agricultural and water managers in the southeast USA and can serve as a model for national climate services.
