Abstract:

This study was carried out to evaluate adaptation of grasspea lines in ecological transition zones (Tokat and Amasya) during 2004/05 and 2005/06 years. Eleven grasspea lines were obtained from ICARDA (38, 439, 452, 455 and 463), Romania (Lathyrus sativus L. var. azureus, L. sativus var. biflorus, L. sativus var. coloratus, L. sativus var. leucotetragonus and L. sativus var. albus) and local population (Elazig). The research was designed according to randomized block design with three replicate. Dry matter yield, biological yield, seed yield, 1000-seed weight, harvest index, crude protein content in dry matter and crude protein in seed variables were determined. The data were analyzed with MSTAT statistical program. Dry matter yield (2311.0 - 5185.7 kg/ha), seed yield (564.7 - 2092.7 kg/ha), 1000-seed weight (74.27 - 184.43 g), harvest index (11.90 - 28.53%), crude protein content in dry matter (16.13 - 25.66%) and crude protein content in seed (21.49 - 30.98%) were ranged based on two years production.

Key words: Grasspea (Lathyrus sativus L.), yield, harvest index, crude protein.
