  • Abstract:
Considerable information about soil, crop residue, and nutrient management practices for rice production on submerged soils has been and continues to be generated through research across Asia. This information has been incorporated into various on- and off-site training programs. We are compiling, synthesizing, and reformatting this information into e-learning modules that can be accessed via the Cereal Knowledge Bank web site.  Subject matter for the first modules to be developed includes submerged soil properties and nitrogen transformations in a submerged rice production environment.  E-learning modules provide a valuable medium to transfer knowledge to professionals who can utilize the materials for teaching, extension, or research.

Keywords: e-learning module, knowledge transfer, rice production, soil chemistry
