Abstract:
With eighty years of maize breeding success to build upon, the ongoing goal for Pioneer has not changed.  Our maize breeders strive to deliver superior hybrids with high yield, while improving agronomics and defensive traits.  Leveraging all of the technologies available today widens the funnel of genetic recombinants and shortens the timeline for delivery to corn growers around the world.  Specialized phenotypic data collection technologies provide improved precision for genetic mapping of traits.  With a deep understanding of our proprietary germplasm, breeders are able to fully leverage doubled haploid and molecular marker technologies to select superior genotypes.  Robust data management tools and adaptive software development approaches enable breeders to leverage all available information for optimal product advancement decisions.
