Abstract:
Countryside Cooperative’s Agronomists, in Durand WI, have notices in the past few years, a trend showing decreased soybean yields in the area. To better understand this yield decrease, collecting soil and tissue samples, testing for micronutrients, and applying micronutrient foliar applications to local farmers’ fields will be done to those that have experienced yield decreases. Comparisons will be done on all fields in order to find a link between farming practices, such as tillage, fertilizer applications, and herbicide use, and the micronutrient deficiency. Applications of a micronutrient foliar spray will be used to determine if micronutrients given to plants later in the growing season will influence yields.
