    Fluxes of the malodorants p-cresol and p-ethylphenol were measured from a lagoon that served as the primary waste recipient for a 2,000 sow farrowing farm.  Odors were collected at heights of 0.5 and 1.5 m on Tenax tubes connected to a portable pump and power supply mounted on a float constructed of PVC pipe.  Sensible and latent heat fluxes from the lagoon were estimated from weed speed, humidity, and temperature data collected at the same heights by instrumentation mounted on another float. Both floats were constructed to have a minimal footprint and wind profile. Fluxes from the lagoon were correlated with lagoon surface temperature and insolation, and to a lesser degree, air temperature and wind speed.  Knowledge of the factors that influence emission of malodorants from waste lagoons could lead to improved designs that reduce complaints by neighbors.
