Abstract:
In this study, the DAYCENT biogeochemical model was used to estimate rice yield in Texas as affected by fertilization and environmental factors. At the 1 km x 1 km grid level, rice yield was estimated by the model for 2000-2008. Meteorological data required to drive DAYCENT were acquired from local weather stations and DAYMET if not available, an algorithm that uses weather station data and accounts for topography to generate daily temperature and precipitation at 1 km2 resolution. Soils data were acquired from SSURGO. Sensitivity analysis for fertilization application such as N and P was examined too.
