Abstract:
Utilizing a high-density grid of digital well-logs, a high-resolution sequence stratigraphic framework was developed for the Tertiary Gulf Coast section in Webb County, Texas. Allostratigraphic principles were used in the definition of sequences and parasequences through the correlation of discontinuities identified by well-log patterns.

Cross-sections composed of hundreds of digital well-logs were used to create a three-dimensional stratigraphic framework through the correlation of flooding surfaces and condensed sections that can be identified by their log character. Example cross-sections detail the depositional relationships of the sequences and parasequences for the Tertiary section.
