Abstract:
In this paper we review various methods for characterizing and estimating the hydraulic properties of unsaturated soils. We focus especially on inverse procedures as applied to both laboratory and especially field-scale experiments.

The presentation is to be part of the special session honoring the career of Jacob Dane.
