Abstract:
In this presentation, the most highly cited papers of Dr. Jacob Dane will be reviewed and discussed, including those on hysteresis, salinity and temperature effects on soil hydraulic properties, predictive modeling of flow and transport using both analytical and numerical models, and multi-phase transport. In addition, his contributions on the modeling of mechanistic carbon cycling will be presented. This work consists of a very general approach from which the impact of varying soil environmental factors on soil CO2 emissions can be studied, in particular soil temperature and soil water content, and time of year.
