Predicted nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from the DAYCENT model were compared to greenhouse gas emission in the field. N2O emissions were measured at 6 hours intervals using automated chamber and gas chromatograph over the period of DOY 50 through DOY 254. Estimates of cumulative N2O from DAYCENT were similar to cumulative emissions from the field measurements. However, discrepancies were noted when comparing daily N2O emissions. This work contributes to the USDA ARS GraceNet Project.
