Previous research indicates that drought-tolerant dinitrogen fixation may be associated with soybean genotypes having low shoot-N concentrations under well-watered conditions. This research evaluates the repeatability of genotypic differences for shoot N concentration under well-watered conditions and directly evaluates the possible link between shoot-N concentration and drought sensitivity of dinitrogen fixation using the acetylene reduction assay.
