Whenever I think of John Norman, I visualize John with a brightly lit light bulb over his head. Always thinking, always trying to illuminate the unknown. John has followed in the footsteps of his mentor, C. B. Tanner, in being a truly innovative scientist making significant contributions in a wide range of disciplines. He has guided graduate students through their programs at Pennsylvania State University, the University of Nebraska, and the University of Wisconsin. Many of these students have gone on to successful careers in academia, government, and industry. I will share with the audience some interesting stories of my interactions with John.
