ACS528 Diversity Student Poster Competition

Poster Session
Special Sessions
One of the major objectives of the Graduate Student Poster Awards Program sponsored by the Diversity in Agronomy, Crops, Soils and Environmental Sciences Committee (ACS528) is to recognize outstanding ASA, CSSA, and SSSA posters presented at the 2014 Annual Meetings by graduate students from under-represented groups. Poster abstracts must have been submitted to the appropriate division within the Societies following regular electronic submission procedures and deadlines.

There is still time to also submit abstracts to the ACS528 Committee (dexter.watts@ars.usda.gov; Annette James, aajames@pvamu.edu; Eton Codling, eton.codling@ars.usda.gov) Completed posters must be received electronically by the ACS528 Committee no later than Thursday, October 30, 2014 for full consideration.

Acknowledgment of receipt from the Diversity Committee indicates successful abstract submission and inclusion in the Diversity Poster Competition. Submitted posters will be evaluated using the following criteria by a panel of judges selected by the ACS528 Committee:

(1) originality and impact of study,

(2) content and clarity of information, and

(3) quality of presentation.

Winners will be recognized during the Gateway Scholars Orientation on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 8:30 AM (please refer to the program schedule for room/hall location). They will receive Certificates and monetary awards of $300, $250, and $200 for first, second and third places, respectively.
