Major reasons for low N use efficiency are volatilization and leaching losses, especially in light textured soils. Previous research has showed that N losses can be minimized by use of controlled release and stabilized fertilizers. In the present study polymer coated urea, urea and UAN treated with N-stabilizers, poultry litter and their combinations were evaluated for improvement of N use efficiency in Red River Alluvial soils. Effect of controlled fertilizers, addition of N stabilizers, poultry litter and their combinations on plant growth, and yield parameters will be presented.
