Many producers are interested in winter canola as a dual-purpose forage and grain crop. A simulated grazing study was conducted at Manhattan, KS and Hutchinson, KS from 2006 to 2009. Simulated grazing had a significant effect on winter survival and yield. Winter survival of experimental line KS4022 following grazing was significantly greater than all other cultivars tested. Results indicate potential exists for development of varieties suitable for dual-purpose use.
