Oral Session
S09 Soil Mineralogy
This symposium traces the advances in soil mineralogy from the 1800s to present. It explores how our understanding of soil minerals increased with breakthroughs in technology beginning with wet chemistry and optical mineralogy through x-ray diffraction and electron microscopy to current advances in analytical techniques. This session also includes invited papers dealing with how advances in soil mineralogy have been used in soil classification and environmental science.
