Abstract:
Land subsidence along the Taiwan high speed rail passing the Yunlin county is the most serious region inTaiwan. The large difference of the clay compaction between any two points along the track will affect the traffic safety. The purpose of this study will first construct the hydro-geological field in Yunlin area in order to accurately describe the structures of the stratums. The subsidence package IBS is used to simulate the land subsidence along the Taiwan high speed rail passing the Yunlin county. The results show that the existence of pumping wells along the Taiwan high speed rail is the major reason for the excess compaction. After removing the 67 pumping wells along the 1.5 km width on both sides of the track, the value of compactions will be reduced about 2 cm.
