The Impact of Rien Van Genuchten.

In this presentation I will provide some information about Rien's research career which started at New Mexico State University New Mexico a few years after I arrived there. I will also discuss my view on his career, and will try to provide some insights in why I think he has been, and still is such a great scientist, as well as a friend to all of us.
