Abstract:
Sulfometuron methyl that had new, low toxicity and high effect properties and used forest or non-cultivated land was an unselected and broad pedigree herbicide. Scholars at home and abroad focused on researches in weed-control effects of sulfometuron methyl and applied amounts at present. Research on ecological effect was still blank. The affairs that vegetables were damaged with irrigating groundwater at a certain city were set off in this research. The preliminary results were concluded that pollution of groundwater had a relation with sulfometuron methyl by investigating the injured farm crops and other wilding plants and analyzing contents of inorganic and organic matter in groundwater. At the same time the possibility that groundwater was polluted by inorganic matter was ruled out. On the base of simulating experiments of organic matter confirmed, clarifying the geography of pollution area, and explaining hydrogeological conditions, synthetical studies were proceeded and conclusions that groundwater was really polluted by sulfometuron methyl were reached finally. These accorded with the actual situations. Above achievements provided basis for pollution area to prevent contamination in agriculture production.
