Abstract:
Some items the author, Robert Fulghum described in "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten," such as share everything, play fair, and be aware of wonder are appropriate for an extension agronomist. Developing a personal philosophy of extension is essential. But there are other important items that include building relationships, understanding your clientele and their needs, being flexible, always carry a camera, seize the moment, take chances, and take-on more than you can possibly accomplish in any given year. Remember, you aren't the only source of information your clientele has nor are you the gatekeeper of knowledge. You should try to develop your clientele into becoming problem-solvers. Also, you don't always have to impress the crowd by giving them everything you know.
