Abstract:
Cotton yield is affected by boll size and placement on the cotton plant. A better understanding of these two parameters in new cotton varieties can help with selection based on growing conditions and allow more growth efficiency. We analyzed twelve varieties for yield distribution, yield, and quality under irrigated and non-irrigated conditions in South Georgia to determine fruiting patterns that lend themselves to high yield and efficient growth. Growth habits varied considerably between varieties.
