Abstract:
Waterlogging and flooding are both hypoxic stresses in crop production over the world. Hypoxia retards nitrogen and other nutrient influxes by crop plants due to fermentation and metabolic energy shortages. This presentation will discuss about solid oxygen fertilizers and their effects on uptake and use of plant nutrients by hypoxic crop plants. In situ visualization of rhizosphere and uptake rate of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium will be presented and compared between both normoxic and hypoxic conditions.
