Abstract:
Environmental isotopes composition of precipitation contains broadly, the signal of local climate conditions. This work presents the preliminary results of a research project of precipitation, taking place in the West, Central and East Mexico, pretending to interpret the influence of the geographic parameters such as temperature, latitude, altitude, distance from the cost and intensity of the precipitation. The samples were collected from 10 different places from 5 localities. The average altitude ranges from 120 to 4000masl. The collection precipitation years vary from 1999 to 2008. Through this set of data we try to evaluate the changes caused of the local climate and topographic features and how they can modify the general pattern of the isotopic composition. Also we proof that this data presents a good correlation with the equation of the Local Meteoric Water Line proposed earlier, for the Central part of the country.
