Abstract:
There is a growing need for a national seed science distance education program because of the expanding technologies and lack of access to educational materials in the seed industry . The objectives of the program are to : 1) increase the efficiency and effectiveness of delivering seed science courses to students; 2) assist in educating students for careers in the seed industry; 3) provide courses for seed science professional requirements and 4) develope an informational network to share knowledge and information about seed science. Ten modular courses have been developed, pilot tested and are available for enrollment for Fall 2008. Course materials and a Natioal Seed Science Distance Education Certificate requirements will be presented .
