Abstract:
Constructed wetlands are a low-cost effective water treatment method employed to reduce the amount of pollutants in wastewater and storm water discharges on Fort Hood. One area that has been identified as a potential site to use this technology is at a "Biosite", oil-water seperator, which currently generates a variety of wastewaters and storm water runoff.  Designs have been developed to address the treatment of military unique hydrocarbons using a former oil-water seperator as the constructed wetland.
