Abstract:
The Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) is a funding agency within USDA.  When agricultural researchers, educators, and extension professionals are well-informed about CSREES, their actions can become more effective in support of maximum visibility and recognition for their CSREES-funded activities, and contribute to informed agency decisions regarding limited funds.   CSREES’s mission is to advance knowledge for the benefit of agriculture, the environment, human health and well-being, and communities.   CSREES supports programs in the Land-Grant University System and other partner organizations.   Hatch Funds for research, Smith-Lever Funds for cooperative extension, the National Research Initiative, and National Needs Graduate and Postgraduate Fellowships are some of the programs managed by CSREES.    This presentation will review CSREES governing legislation, strategic goals, stakeholder-input opportunities, and strategic reporting for strong presentation of results.  Information will be updated to October 2008.
