Field experiments were conducted in spring 2005 and 2006 to evaluate efficacy of bispyribac-sodium (BS) for annual bluegrass seedhead control in New Jersey.  Applying BS before annual bluegrass seedhead emergence at 37 or 74 g/ha gave temporary control but was not as effective as ethephon plus trinexapac-ethyl (TE).  Sequential applications of BS were most effective in controlling seedheads after emergence but annual bluegrass chlorosis was only acceptable (< 20%) when applied with chelated iron.  Overall, BS has potential to control annual bluegrass seedheads after emergence but ethephon plus trinexapac-ethyl gave most consistent control when applied before seedhead emergence.
