Greenhouse soil cultivated with excessive compost and chemical fertilizer has been an issue to deteriorate soil and water quality in the environment. Therefore, the objective of this study was to develop an assessment tool for greenhouse soil and groundwater near greenhouses in Korea. The data conducted in greenhouse were collected and analyzed through the annual reports and the journals in the country. In addition, a field experiment was conducted for lack data and collected it. The available phosphate contents of soil and amount of compost applied were exceeded about 70.3% and 70.0%, respectively, compared to the recommended usages in Korea. Over time, EC values and available phosphate contents of soil were increased, and SQI (Soil Quality Index) for main crops of greenhouse became poor. Especially, the ones of red pepper, melon, and pumpkin were recorded very poor. As the results of assessing groundwater near a greenhouse, NO3-N concentration of groundwater was high as the cultivation year in greenhouse passed by. It was also noted that as the well depth is deeper, the NO3-N concentration of groundwater became lower.
