One of the most important management problems for creeping bentgrass is dollar spot disease.  Colonial bentgrass generally has resistance.  Some interspecific hybrids between creeping and colonial bentgrass exhibited excellent dollar spot resistance in field tests.  As one approach to identifying the regions of the colonial bentgrass genome conferring dollar spot resistance, we are developing a genetic linkage map of colonial bentgrass.  We are using both AFLPs and gene-based markers for map development.  Our progress in generating a colonial bentgrass genetic linkage map will be presented.
