In order to study the effects of sowing date and cultivar on some phenological and physiological characteristics of canola , an experiment was conducted in 2003-2004 at agriculture collage of Shahid chamran university of Ahvaz. The design experiment was a split plot in completely randomized block basis with three replications. In this study main plot and subplot were consisted of four level of sowing date ( 25 Aban ,15 Azar ,5 Day ,25 Day) and three levels of cultivars ( Hyola 401 , RGS003,Pf 704) respectively. Results showed that, with delay in sowing date, seed yield , pod per plant ( at 1% probability level) and seed per pod , oil percent and protein percent ( at 5% probability level) were significantly reduced. Three levels of cultivars for seed yield , pod per plant and seed per pod ( at 1% probability level) were significantly different. But there is no significant differences between cultivar in weight of thousand seed ,oil and protein percent .Statistical results indicated that sowing date and cultivars level were significant different in all phenological characteristics, and their period of each was shorter when sowing date was delied. In yield component, pod per plant there was highest correlation with seed yield ( r=0.7) while there is not significant correlation between yield and weight of thousand seed. Also seed yield had high correlation with all phenilogical characteristics.
