The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) as part of the National Cooperative Soil Survey has continually explored and searched in the last 10 years for new and innovative ways to increase awareness of soil science and use of soil surveys in natural resource management and ecological analysis. Through the use of historical context, art, and alternative educational and display tools (examples: interactive electronic and internet products (WebSoil Survey), museum displays, planning calendars, trading cards, soil paintings) soil survey has expanded its target audiences for soil survey information.
