The Wheat State Agronomy Club of Kansas State University hosted the Wheaten 4-H Club on Feb. 1st, 2005, for a hands on agronomic experience. The purpose of the event was to expose youth to many agronomic disciplines. Young and old minds alike immersed themselves in activities which promoted their growth in Agronomy. 4-H'ers explored many different avenues of agronomy by visiting the insect zoo, soil testing lab, and genetics lab. They also tried their hands at soil texturing, challenged their practical field knowledge of weed and crop identification, and explored their creative side with grain art. Club members and Kansas State faculty shared their knowledge with the 4-H'ers, while 4-H'ers shared with them a fresh perspective on agronomy.
